Funeral Mass for Genoveva Rosabel Romero Garduno 82, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Thursday-October 1, 2009-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate.\n\nVisitation will be held on Wednesday-September 30, 2009-2:00-5:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.\n\nA Rosary will be held on Wednesday-September 30, 2009-7:00 PM at St. Vivians Catholic Church in Milan, New Mexico.\n\nVeva was born on August 1, 1927 in Nambe, New Mexico and she went home to her Lord and Savior on September 28, 2009 in Grants, New Mexico.\n\nGenoveva was the wonderful mother of ten children as well as a loving grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She enjoyed family, travel and shopping.\n\nShe is survived by her daughters: Elsie and Nolina Garduno of Grants, New Mexico, Stella McKenzie and husband Bob of Tucson, Arizona Ramona Chavez and husband Ricky of San Rafael, New Mexico, Triny Barajas and husband Jimmy of San Rafael, New Mexico, Patsy Garcia and husband Rodney of Bluewater Village, New Mexico; Sons: Ramos Garduno and wife Sandra of Grants, New Mexico, Michael Garduno and wife Debra of Grants, New Mexico and Gilbert Garduno and wife Darlene of Denver, Colorado; Brother: Arturo Romero and wife Mary of Nambe, New Mexico; Sister: Teresita Sandoval of Nambe, New Mexico; 20 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild; Six Sister-in-laws, seven Brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews and other family members.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: Gilberto Garduno; Parents: Vidal Romero and Ramona Lopez Romero; Son: Larry Garduno; Great Granddaughter: Richanda Jaramillo; Brothers: Martiniano Romero, Ramon Romero Petrolino Romero and Bernardo Romero; Sisters: Maria Gomez, Eluteria Ortiz and Lydia Romero.\n\nPallbearers will be: Dominick Garduno, Romanita Jaramillo, Tina Barajas, Melanie Garcia, Nichole Garduno, Anthony Garduno, David Garduno, Eddie Gonzales, Jr.\n\nHonorary Pallbearers will be: Sandra Garduno, Debra Garduno, Darlene Garduno. \n\nIn lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Diabetes Foundation, 525 San Pedro, NE Suite 101, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108.
