Thomas Warren Simpson, born February 5th, 1934 in Cave City, Arkansas. Tom passed away\npeacefully, in presence of family, January 15, 2023 in Grants, NM at the Cibola General\nHospital. He was 88 years old, 21 days short of his 89th birthday.\n\nTom was raised in the Grants area, attended Grants High School and graduated in 1952. He\nhelped his family either by small part-time jobs around the area or by driving a truck with his\nfather. After graduating, Tom started working in the Uranium industry for Anaconda Mill. He was\ndrafted into the U.S. Army in 1956 and served until 1958. He was stationed in El Paso, TX at\nFt. Bliss Army Base. After being discharged from the U.S. Army in 1958, he returned to Grants\nand married Jeanell Julian on July 11, 1959. He returned to Ananconda and continued to work\nfor the Uranium industry through several name or corporation changes for over 43 years.\n\nTom loved to ride horses and rope whenever possible. He was passionate about practicing and\ntravelling to local rodeos and jackpots. He passed that passion on to anyone that would want to\nbring up the subject of roping. As he grew older, his new passion became travelling to junior\nrodeos to watch his grandchildren.\n\nHe is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanell, two sons, Tommy Dwaine Simpson (Pamela)\nand Darin B. Simpson (Joley). Two brothers Pat Simpson (Joann) and Bob Simpson. Three\ngrandchildren, Bo Thomas Simpson (Kayla), Randi Blair Trantham (Tulley) and Chali Ann\nSimpson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Appie Alina and Hunter Horn Simpson,\nbrother Jack Claude Simpson and sister Elizabeth Ann Draves .\n\nHis funeral will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Grants, NM. Visitation will begin at 9:00\nam, funeral will begin at 10:00 am with the burial at Bluewater Cemetery. Reception to follow.
